With the last Saturday of regular season play, the madness is starting to take over. It’s March and that means that gambling has somehow become an even worse idea. But honestly, that’s not going to stop any of us, right?
I returned to glory yesterday, with a lovely 2/2. The Fighting Camels did what most fighting camels do: kick ass. Also, the Mountaineers covered in West Virginia, which reminds me… Yesterday, I made a comment about Jevon Carter being a senior citizen or something like that. Well, he’s a Junior!!! Somehow, someway, Jevon Carter is Benjamin Buttoning his way through college. The guy looks like he could have grandkids. OK, I’m done. I just needed to let that out.
The final Saturday of the regular season gives us some pretty good action. Let’s start with Miami taking on Florida State in Tallahassee. The Seminoles are favored by 6.5 at home against the hurricanes, which is unsettling. I do think FSU wins this game, and I don’t think it will come down to free throws to ice the game. That being said, I could imagine an 8 point lead turning into a 6 point lead with a pointless layup. This game is too scary to touch for me, so I’m avoiding the state of Florida today. Stay away!
At 6 pm, Kansas goes to Stillwater to take on the Cowboys of Oklahoma State. Interesting point to take notice of: the line opened at OKSU -1, but has moved to Kansas -1.5. I don’t see the Jayhawks losing this game. Frank Mason will figure it out, one way or another. I don’t care that Phil Forte is wrapping up his 17 year college career. Or that Jawun Evans is a straight up baller. Rock Chalk, Jayhawk. -1.5 KU.
At 8:15, one of the most iconic rivalries in college hoops takes place at Chapel Hill: Duke-UNC. The Blue Devils beat the Tar Heels in Cameron Indoor earlier this season, but a lot can change when you go a couple miles down Tobacco Road. North Carolina is favored by 7 at home. Similarly to the other ACC match, FSU-Miami, I’m very worried about a backdoor cover. However, I’m only going to cop out once on this article. So give me the Blue Devils. These teams are pretty similar. Both are talented and experienced. Both have many players that can step up and give their team a boost. I think this game is going to be down to the wire. I’m not seeing a 7 point game. Duke +7.
All regular season play is done after tomorrow. I’m warning everyone to take a break and just enjoy the madness. If there’s money on the line, it’s going to Vegas. Whether that’s by way of a full court buzzer beater or a fighting camel named Chris Clemons on a mission to be the first 16 seed to upset a 1. Somehow, Vegas will get your money, so please be cautious and get your bets in now.
